So i have decided to go to a 10 gallon refugium setup instead of a hang on the back. I have a 55 gallon display and a 10 gallon sump. Does anyone know what GPH pump ill need. Really new to this so im not quite sure. Also do i use an overflow box, and syphon it down?

Yes get an over flow box and you will want a return pump that puts out 50 gallons to 100 gallons at 4 ft head.

With a 10 gallon sump the flow will need to be pretty slow or you will have microbubble problems due to the velocity through the sump. Plus you want relatively low flows in a refugium so the critters and microfauna grow well. I would shoot for 50 GPH or less at 4 or 5 feet of head. You can slightly oversize the pump and use a ball valve on the discharge side to throttle or regulate the flow to fine tune the refugium.

Is there a link or anything to show how overflows work? What kind of hose? Where to find that slow of a pump?
