Hello, I am setting up a 40 gallon coral/fish/invert tank, and I am wondering what a good fish or invert would be to keep my substrate clean (something that will sift through it).

Good quality RO/DI water, hermit crabs, sand sifting starfish, sand sifting goby, (bristle worms will eat the poo) .... lots of things, just search around... plenty of good info.

Careful with the gobies if you plan on having coral. I had a yellow headed goby and all he did was gather the crushed coral and deposit it all over my corals. Noone was sad when he passed away.
