Hey guys, I finally got a mate for my clownfish. Ive tried it before with not luck. My large female would just kill the other. This time I finally found some tiny clowns, about 1/2 inch long. When I put them together, the female (aroung 2-2 1/2 inches) chased the little guy for a min, then they started doing the sezier thing. This went on for about 30 min, then everything was great. When I got up this morning, they were swimming together, kinda flarring ever once in a while. I guess she is still trying to say she is the boss. But finally. Now I have to wait for the little male to mature, and see what I need to do. Thanks for all the help Ive got here,

CONGRATS!!! I'll tell you a secret about finding pairs of clowns.... Go to a LFS that sells them, wait till they have a whole bunch of little ones 1" or smaller. Buy 2 of them and you will end up with a pair of them simply because of metamorphasis, ALL clowns are born male, one will morph into the female and the dominant male will become the mate, if the female ever dies, then the male will morph into the female and hunt for a mate. When they dispurse in the wild, thats more or less how it happens. So when you buy 2 babies, one will stay the male, the dominant one will become the female. But SHHHHHHHH don't tell anybody ;)

LOL, I dont think anyone knows your secret yet :) I only got one at the time because I only had a 10 gallon. Now I have the 20 going so I thought I would try a pair of clowns. Really soon, hopfully around the first of the year, I will change one of my 55 gallon tanks to a salt. Then I will have to start all over with the algae stages, and getting new lights and stuff but oh well Ill be able to finally get some really saltwater fish, he he he.
