Good info, never would've guessed! They took my son's snow globe that was the size of a tennis ball, but a bag of water is ok. I guess with living fish in it, it can't be too bad. I guess it goes along the same mentality of me getting my fingernail clippers getting confiscated once, but my 3" pocket knife got the all clear. Seriously my bag got pulled after X-ray, the TSA agent opened the knife measured it and put it back, then grabbed my little finger nail clippers and told me I couldn't board with them, "do you want to take them back to the car or surrender them?". lol. 3" knife, no big deal, clippers, big deal.

But what a cool souvenir to bring back, you can always look at your tank and tell people, thats my hawaii fish;)

Hate to be a kill joy but you will not be able to carry your fish on a plane. You are not allowed to carry that much liquid(water) in your carry on and would not even think about putting it in a checked bag because of the scanners. I just saw this on a new episode "On the Fly". When the kid called the airport they said it would be fine but when he got to the airport they said absolutely not because of the liquid. He had to have his Mom pick the fish up.:-(
