That suuuucks :( I would absolutely hate to walk in on a horse of mine that'd passed away. That would be aweful.

Not to be offensive or anything, but what do you do with a horse that's passed away? I mean, those are huge animals. You can't exactly bury him in the backyard. Like I said, I don't mean to be offensive, I'm just curious.

My family had a farm when I was younger. Its not a good sight to see. I have see it a few times in my life. I have seen it for bad breaks also. Either way its not easy.

That's kinda disturbing  If I had a pet horse and was attached to it, even if it's died, I'd rather it not be turned into some everyday product.

For instance, I'm a signed organ donar on my license, where they can take all the stuff they want from me if I die in a crash, as long as I'm viewable while I'm dead. I don't really care for an open casket kinda deal, but that's probably what my family woud want, so that's why I'd like to be viewable at least. So with a horse that I had a relationship with, I would hate to see him crained off onto some truck never to be seen again.

yea, a crane is the only way i've heard of it being done, i'm sure theres other ways, i had gone back to the barn this afternoon to drop off some roses for the horse's owner, and the horse was gone. It was deffiently freaky seeing the horse just lying there this morning covered in mud with the pooring rain hitting it, wasn't coverd or anything. I'm used to seeing dead dogs/cats with working at a vet, it's not a probem anymore for me, but seeing the horse though, don't want to see it again.

Not really sure how they hauled this one away
