Just wondering about the sudden increase in my skimmer output? I emptied the skimmer yesterday after about 4 days, and today (about 24 hrs later) it's already full again. Any reason for the increase?
Feeding has been steady and it's all usually eatin within a couple minutes. Added two clowns last week but there wasn't an increase in output. No real change since last week when I added them. Any ideas?

Oh and tests indicated normality. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate all zero. Ph at 8.2...

Water is crystal clear. PWC is due next Thursday (10% every two weeks) and carbon is only two weeks old.
    Ideas?

Is it a new skimmer? Maybe it is just hitting the sweet spot and working extra with the new fish. Nice though

Been running for a month or so. So a lot of output is a good thing? I just checked it (after about 2 hours) and it's already 1/6 filled lol. This is ridiculous... It's an aquac remora pro.

What color is the skimmate? Have you added any additives? Can you set your skimmer cup for dryer skimmate?

Can't really adjust it. It's a HOB. Skimmate is a green color. I did just top off my tank (about a gallon). But nothing unusual.

Maybe that much output is not a good thing especially if it is real light. If you are getting a thick coffee color skimmate you are pulling out a lot of "crap". The more light, tea colored skimmate you pull you are still getting the "crap" but lots of water as well, meaning skimming wet. The drier the skim the darker and more concentrated it is.

Maybe less overall water in the tank? I guess I'll see in the morning. Not sure why it just started pulling out so much water.

i have the same skimmer, it is possible to adjust the skimmate consistency by raising or lowering the rubber gasket on the outside of the skimmer cup. mine has a freak out every time i do a water change, tons of wet skim.

Yes you sure can. Move the o-ring down a little bit on the collection cup. This will raise the collection cup up a little bit, decreasing the amount of water you are pulling out with the skimmate.
