I have a T8 florescent tube. It is a 5000 K & 18 W high intensity plant lamp. Will this be sufficient for my 36 gallon plant tank ? The details that accompanied the light said it was.

I would say you might be able to grow low light plants. For what its worth you could build a 4 bulb t8 light for cheap. I just built 4x40w t8 for under $100.00 including bulbs. Each bulb rated at 10,300 lumens 6500k (who knows how accurate that is).

If you want anything but Anubias and Jave moss and Java fern, No.

You will want at least 2 watts per gallon.
