    But they can. In the short time I tried going 'topless' with my 29g, I lost several fish, including 2 clowns. :-[

    FWIW, in a tank that small, your clowns are likely to bully any newcomers, especially smaller or less aggressive species.

    It is possible. I believe it was Corailline who said a while back that she had a pair of clowns that tore her shrimp to pieces.

    +1 and also, spend $20, that will make 2 mesh tops;) Clowns will jump, mine pretty much jump outta the water at feeding time, and I lost ablack one to jumping before my top. Def worth it.
