I have a 90 gallon FOWLR tank with wet/dry sump, refug, UV sterilizer, and protein skimmer. I am about to buy a new pump and would like any suggestions on brand of pump and the gph that I need for my tank. The pump I am currently using is a back up pump that I had to go to when my old pump died on me about a year ago. Also suggestions on order of my sump! Thank you very much!

I've got a 90g and run a pan world 50PX-X external. Very quite and pushes about 800 gpm through the return. You could run your uv light teed off the main return. Much easier to maintain than the internal pumps I've used

Jebao DC-12000. Powerful enough to run everything and quiet. Controllable output and reasonable price.

I second this, that's the pump I'm running, and will run on my 180.

What about a Mag Drive 9.5? I have seen this setup on 90g tanks.

Mag pumps run hotter than most, can be quite noisy and draw more wattage than comparable pumps of the same size. I have used the Ocean Runner 3500 and Eheim 1262 in the past and loved them, the Quiet One 4000 though actually caught on fire andwas the second one to do so along with a Quiet One 1200 on my calcium reactor.

Today I use the Water Blaster HY-5000 and it is amazing. Quiet, far more efficient than any other pump I have owned and moves a lot more water at greater head. I have no experience with the new DC powered pumps but would look into one if my HY-5000 ever failed. The ability to adjust the speed and flow is a big plus.
