    You'll be more than fine using the 20 LED setup (with the XM-L's running in a "X" pattern).

    I don't like the other pattern because a RB:W LED's ratio of 1:1 will give you a whiter tank, and you'll need more RB to compensate for the output of the XM-L LED's. Also, 20 LED's of Royal Blue XP-E and XM-L's will be more than sufficient for ANYTHING you want to keep in that tank.

    Will the light spread enough to blend the colors in that X pattern?
