    So here is the deal....
I have a 12 gal nano tank. I have two turbo snails. One plays nice and does his job. The other one climbs up the back of the tank and climbs into the back of the nano and hangs out on top of the sponge filters, right under the fans. At least once, every morning, if not more, I have to rescue him from the sponge (it's not submerged in water because he just hangs out on top). It is so frustrating. Removing a snail from a sponge has proved to be a difficult task (I spend alot of time gently encouraging him to latch on to a credit card).

Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is this normal snail behavior or is he just really emo and have a death wish?

If anyone has any tips, I'd greatly appreciate it. Otherwise me and this snail are going to battle it out to the death... haha!

My tanks have open tops. Every so often snails will tool around the top rim, and once in a while I will find one on the floor, dead. They go where the food trail takes them. You're going to be in this battle for as long as he hangs on.

I've never been angry at a small creature before. Especially a snail. It's all very humorous really but I'm having anger management issues over a freaking snail. I just wish he'd play nice like the other snail. AARRRGGGGHHHH lol I've tried creating little barriers for him so he couldn't get up there but so far I haven't found anything that works. lol If this continues he may find himself being airborne out the front door... rawr. lol

Once on the sponge can he get back into the tank? If so I would just leave him there. They can spend some time out of the water and are hopefully smart enough to head back before they dry out.

Well... I'm assuming that since he can get in, he can get out. I just don't know if he will or not. The light cooling fans are just a smidge above his shell when he's there so I don't know how the exit strategy would work. It's also possible that he'd move over to the other portion to the back of the tank and if he did, he's just stuck there because I'm not pulling him out. I don't think the fans would hurt him but they'd jar him up pretty good. Maybe next time I'll just leave him and see what happens. I guess I'll know if I can pick him up easily or smell him. lol
