Has anyone ever used or know anything about this? I emailed the company to find out how it works.

This is the response from the e-mail I got back:

The sulfur media creates the low PH you need to disolve the calcium. The sulfur also eliminates any nitrates in your system. Then the calcium media raises the PH back up to the correct level and the effluent you get is rich in Ca and nitrate free.

Or Is this another way to seperate someone from their money?

Its a sulphur reactor. It does exactly what it describes, however they are very finicky. You have to get the water flow around a drop a second for it to work. And then of course you have to wait for the bacteria to accumulate.
If you have the flow going through it to fast, you'll just get a tank full of nitrites.

I have never seen one look like that, they are normally canister type filters like a phosphate reactor. Like this:

Aqua Medic SR 400 / HR 400 Sulphur & Hydrocarbonate Reactors | Aquatic Supplies

They've been around for a long time and they do work, but are finicky - very finicky.
If you get it to work its a much cheaper alternative to getting a nitrate filter and a calcium reactor - altho that one does seem a little over priced IMO

I think that my LFS makes them in house and then sells them around $300. Seem finicky to me, the science is there, just finicky.
