    I've got 30' to the 90. The 300 is a straight shot.

1.5 hp pool and spa pump with 2" fittings, so yes it's a big gun. I could probably make due with 1 hp as this is throttled back. Check Ebay for pool and spa pumps most are OK for saltwater pools. They are a little noisier than "marine" pumps, but they live in the basement and have high head pressure. Plus, they are cheap vs. marine pumps. I bought 2 for the price of one so I have a backup just in case.

I would never have thought about a pool/spa pump! This is why I joined 3reef. Thank you.

I can do better than that.

Call and ask for Perry. I'm using the 1.5 2 speed (running on high) 115v with 2" unions. It is a beast and easily powers the 300/90/skimmer. 1 hp would probably do it to. Ask for a price with a cord as it will save you a trip to Ace. He has flow charts for most of his pumps. I originally bought the same pump in 2 hp to be conservative. It was insane and shook the whole house. It also raised the temp in the tank by 2 degrees and is now the backup.

    Good luck!
