    im going to build a 55 gallon sump for my 135 gallon tank.

    I would suggest switching the fuge and the return. If would save you time and you would get more use out of it!

    I think it looks good I'm about to build my 55g sump like that only I will have 3 sections not 4

    ^the thought process is that if the fuge gets skimmed water only it is not getting all of the nutrients it needs. therefore you spilt the lines so the fuge its fresh dirty water.

    i want it like this so that the water from the fuge doesnt get skimmed and looss some benefit

    That looks good IMO... you might not need the baffles on the fuge side though, you can probably get away with just having one baffle and let the water overflow into the return. Also you might want some ball valves on the inlet to the fuge and skimmer so you can adjust the flow. That is the same setup I am going to be using and I think it will work great. Can't wait to see the finished product!

    Just a pic of what I'm thinking of doing with my sump. Only difference is the canister which I will run instead of a reactor.

    I like this plan. are you going to have the water go over any type of mechanical filter before the sump area? if so i'd like to see how you are going to do it.

    Im going to be building one here soon and the idea i have in my head is very similar to this one.
