sump cleaning, dont want to lose pods!

How can I avoid losing all my pods when i move? I plan on cleaning tank and sump completely out. New sand, clean off all the rock. But i have pods all over my sump! I don't want to wash them all out. I will take the chaeto and keep that so i am sure i will have a bunch in there. Should i just not worry? i know they will reproduce again, just how fast?

 

Do you have livestock that needs the pods?

Can you set up a mini pod tank/fuge to cultivate as many as possible during and after?

 

I was thinking of taking the chaeto and moving it to my other setup before i transfer everything, then moving the mandarin and scooter to the sump just to let them fatten up on all the left overs! haha

then move them to the new tank when they are nice and plump, both do eat frozen so i am not to worried. I just like to know that it is their if they decide to be finicky!

 

in that case i would just follow your plan that you already have and just reseed the tank with store bought pods. Cant remember which online vendors sell them...probably reefcleaners.

 

well if i move my chaeto over they will be in that, so that should see it.
