Well I went to the 3 reef water calculator page and calculated that running the sump at this level it is holding 32.66 gallons. So that brings my system to a total of 152.66 gallons.

I will post some more pics in a few minutes.

Thanks, I actually thought a bigger fuge would be better for a system. Now I am thinking I have a 15.5 gallon aquarium.........Maybe a mantis shrimp? Dont know yet what exactly what I will put down there but more than likely it will be left a fuge

I added this piece of egg crate to the top of the baffle at the fuge to hold back anything that might want to get through in the future.

I added some dead rock from the 29 I took down about 4 months ago.

Well here is a side by side comparrison of the old sump and the new sump.

I really liked this sump. It was pretty well designed. it came with all the pieces. I just handed them cash and they handed me a sump. What I didnt like was how the fuge was layed out. it was drains, fuge, skimmer and return. I turn over 1000 gal an hr (what the pump states at 4' of head) and that entire flow whent through the fuge. I wanted to be able to regulate it.

My 55 gal DIY sump. I really like this sump (I built it ;D) I think its pretty well designed (IMPO). I handed people cash and they handed me parts so I could build (fun). What I like about this sump is I have control of the flow to the fuge. I am feeding both drains to the skimmer and I teed off one drain and it goes to the fuge. fuge on one end skimmer on the other and the return is set up in the middle. I am unsure if there is anything I would have changed at the moment but if I do I will update.

If anyone sees something I may need to change let me know.

    Thanks

Thanks, it seems to be doing what I want for now. Going to go get some more chaeto for it in a little while

No, when I built the stand I built it where I could access everything from the ends.....Glad I did now or I would have had an extremely rough time with the change out...LOL. here is a pic
