I am siliconing the panels in my 30 gal sump and I wanted to know if i should leave a lot of space for my skimmer so i'll be able to take it out, or should i leave just enough space for it to fit? The reason is that if i make more space for the skimmer the less space there will be for a refugium. Thanks!

Always leave space incase you need to take it out. Never "box" yourself in like that.

    Agreed. It gets tight quick.

Just a question...are you making bubble traps for the fuge side. You don't need to. I just have a baffle for mine. So that saves 3 inches.

Definitely leave some wiggle room. You may find a need to spin it to get to things or clean.

You definitely want to clean it. But only just enough to get it out.
