You could always get a hang-on overflow. No drilling

Basically i need something that connect to the 5 gallon sump. water goes in one way, water comes into the DT the other way, just something thats not too complicated and something that i dont have to drill XD

Arent you on a budget? your gonna need to get glass sheets for baffles, and a return pump minimal for that to work. im just lookin out, dont take it the wrong way. this could run you close to 75-80 bux when its all said and done ( if you chose the overflow) drilling will save u some cash. thats not including if you plan on running a skimmer in there later, or a gfo carbon reactor later down the road. just sayin. you could do it and it would be a sweet set up.

you lost me at budget XD is it really that tough to set this thing up? im thinking i could buy the overflow box that blookdip recommended on the first page, put a glass baffle (guess the sump will be 3 chambers), have the 2nd chamber with some LR, LS, and some chaeto, maybe an invert to keep the sand in that chamber clean, put a baffle, and then the 3rd chamber will have the return pump... but wont i have to drill the tank for that anyway?
