I am wanting to build an in wall 200 gallon tank. I am debating making my own or finding a used one on Craigslist. My question is I want to have a sump to hide as much as I can i.e heater, skinner etc. I have a 90 gallon tank now and love it. I just hate looking at all the extras. I am thinking that I will use a 35 gallon sump, an old tank I have now. Any suggestions on how to set this up would be great. I am handy with tools and building things since I can't afford paying petshop prices.

I just built my own sump out of a 20 gal. long. I used acrylic panes as bulkheads, made a bubble trap and that was about it. It's actually really easy to do. Make sure you use 100% silicone when building it. I plumbed it with 1.25in. pvc drain and a 3/4 in. return. (The return may depend on your pump outlet size) I would start with a tank size, then get a pump that will work for your setup and go from there. If you want a refugium you can build one into the sump. I think it's great, I got my heater, skimmer, reactors out of the way.
