    so my only real problem: i have to move my tank a few INCHES away from the wall to fit my overflow back there. BAD planning on my part when i started the tank. Any quick and easy ideas?

    wow thats a big problem, my suggestion would be to put the overflow on one of its sides

    I would love to do that but my tank is a quater circle 36 gal corner, ie no sides

    I wouldn't worry about it. I like the concept. You can change your flow etc. easily. It's adjustable. Looks like the stuff is pretty resilient.

    Plan a larger than usual water change. Keep some of the water in buckets. Drain it 'til you feel comfortable enough to safely move it. Refill with water saved and new water. Should be an easy job with a 36 gallon.
