That light looks acceptable to me Dustin

cant see any reason not to use it
colour temp of lamp - I have read that lamps under 6000k are better for growing Chaeto
    5000K - 57000K seem the most popular

not 100% sure so a bump for those that might know

6400K is what I use in my fuge (slow moving fuge) and it works well. 13w should be sufficient - unless this is a larger fuge, but if its somewhere around 10 gallons this will work very well for you.

I also find that I never have to change my fuge bulbs until they fail - the more they degrade the happier my home-made swamp becomes. good luck with your project !!

the only thing I would change would be to get a stronger bulb. The 6,500k range is ideal and meant for growing plants. Your Chaeto will be happy.

For slightly cheaper lighting, hit up your home depot or lowes and get a curly CFL 6500k 26W and a reflector. Shouldn't cost more than 17 bucks for both.

But other then that, it looks fine.

I am trying to keep the fixture as compact as possible. The big reflector will just take up too much real estate.
