Thanks for all advice before. I just finish my sump/fuge.It is 30.gal. 36x12x16. I wanted to do 4 ft. sump but the way I build stand it did not fit. Should plan better. From right is 2 drains lines with filter sock < I know there is a mix opinions about them, but I always had them so decided to keep them>skimmer, bubble trap then return section with mag 12 and heater. On the left is fuge with slower flow. I plan to put Eheim pump as my second return pump. I know only Mag 12 is not enaugh. Before I used 2 Gen X external pumps, but I did not like noise. Now it is big diffrence. In my fuge I want to grow pods for my Mandarin < big eater>. What else should I put in fuge? I got send, live rock with throw some live copads, cheato maybe mangrove? What else you guys suggest? Did I made eny mistake? Thank you!!!!

Very nice work overall! Good silicone job LOL IMO you could of made the return section a little smaller giving you more space for the fuge side but you'll be ok as is.

I would do chateo for sure. Great nutrient export, and best breeding haven for pods.
I like red mangroves also. Contact John at reefcleaners.

Thanks for a kind words. Yea like I sad I wanted to do 4'. I made return this big because I have to fit another pump there and If something happens to fit carbon reactor there too. And one more question do copepods get thru that foam prefilter on Mag 12 or should I take it off?

Do you plan on putting a skimmer in there?

What size is your display tank and why do you need another pump?

    Good work!

Yes, skimmer is already in first section where 2 drains are with filter sock. Tank is 125 reef. That Mag12 pumps water thru chiller behind the back wall. There is lot of elbows and when I mesure real flow it is aroud 600g/h. Way too low for reef tank. I have 3 koralias 4 too. That Eheim 1260 will pump water strait to one overflow and Mag will go to second thru chiller.

Got it. Chillers add a ton of loss. See if your manual has how much head loss is from the chiller and how much it can flow. They have a max....

Anyway, if you have done that and with all the elbows added in... 600gph is not that bad. It is probably plenty for what you have. I had a 90g with a 60g sump/fuge and 600 gph was plenty. A 9.5 was enough. I throttled down my Ehiem 1262.

But you might be borderline. What might work better is the 1260 through the chiller.... just look at the recomended flow through the chiller and go by that. One thing you might consider is just running the chiller from and to the sump. A Mag 12 is going to give plenty of flow for your skimmer and fuge and you won't be pumping more than you need to. By using a pump to just run the chiller through the sump you save a lot of power and heat by not also pumping that water up another 4 feet. Something to think about.

And one more question. Do I need to take off that prefilter foam on my Mag12 so pods can go from fuge to main tank? Can they make thru that foam or it will stop them? Thanks!!!!!

Thanks for all coments. Can you guys tell me if should I take that foam pre-filter sponge off from my Mag 12 so pods can go thru to my display tank?
