sump help

If you use silcone to glue glass and acrylic does not glue with silcone is there anything that glues both?

You can use a glass tank and then use silicone to hold acrylic in place to partition your sump. Or you can use "weld-on" to glue acrylic together and then use silicone to hold glass partitions in your acrylic sump.
As far as answering your question... Silicone will hold acrylic and glass together but if you are building an acrylic tank the best thing to use to hold it together is the acrylic glue.

I have used silicone with acrylic before and it held just fine for me. Are you just using it for baffels???

 

yea just baffles.i dont think im ready to build a acrylic tank even ith instructions from melves reef.it looks a bit complicated maybe after more expiernce i will some day. acrylic glue will glue acrylic and glass?

 

I never found a need for baffles in a sump..walls maybe if you want to try and add a refugium in the sump and not a good idea in my opinion.. As for that overly thought monster on that site we have one to build now just like it.. Why ??? the guy read about it and thanks he has to have it also.. LOL He got the money I got the time .. Me I used a simple 40 gal breeder for a sump.. It works for me.. Like Otty silicone has worked for me also on acrylic and I work with the stuff daily..But use silicone only with in a sold sump never on any acryclic that is to be used to hold water outside a waterproof box. Then you best use the proper solvents and cements..
