I'm setting up a 90 gal with 35 gal sump/fuge. I plan on having the water from the overflow enter the sump on the left end of the tank and having the return in the middle with the fuge on the right end. My question is do i feed the water to the fuge from the intake end of the sump where the skimmer is gonna be or do I want the water from the return section of the sump or does it even matter? I was planning on using a small powerhead to pump the water into the fuge section so I can have very low flow through the fuge section.. How should I do this?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

I personally think the order should be:
    1st compartment: Skimmer
    2nd Ccompartment: fuge
    3rd compartment: chemical filter/return
this way the fuge has good flow, and grows nice because of the skimmer oxygenating the water. Return in the middle may cause not much turnover into the fuge. As it will all be sucked up by the pump IMO.

You want the return in the middle. No need to use power when gravity does a fine job. Split the drain coming from the display tank and use a valve to control the amount going to the fuge. Leave the other side to the skimmer wide open so you know you will not cause any problems.

If you divert water coming from the return pump you recirc the fuge.
