I planning on building a 20 gallon long sump with a fuge in the middle. My budget is 1,500 but I'm hoping not to get anywhere near that close. I am building this sump for my current setup which is a 29 gallon but I am upgrading to a 75 gallon come May so the sump and fuge needs to be able to support the 75 also. I have never built a sump before and know very little about the whole project.

I do have a friend who knows a lot about it helping me but he is also new to building fuges/sumps etc. I want this sump to be the best it can be from the beginning so I don't end up having to purchase a new one or new parts for it because the cheap ones did not work correctly. If a 20 long isn't what you think is right for my 75 gallon all suggestions are appreciated.

The plan is the have the first chamber be for the protein skimmer. Now I actually need help on what products to get here. I kinda have what I want on everything but the skimmer so suggestions here would be helpful.

The next chamber will be separated by three baffles one going up, one going down, and another going up.

The fuge will sit in the middle taking up as much place as possible. I plan on putting in this product of mud but I don't know how many lbs. I need to put inside. Also, I plan on using Cheato and Mangroves to start with.

The next chamber will again be separated by the same kind of baffle formation.

The last chamber is for the return. This is the pump the 900 gph model. I am thinking of using with this overflow box. I want to pump into this UV Sterilizer, I am also wondering if the wiper is worth it.

This is the setup I am thinking of using right now for my 29 gallon and then transferring it to my 75 gallon. Any suggestion on products would be very appreciated.

    Thanks.

First of all don't waste money on the UV sterilizer......good for FOWLR tanks.

    Waves are cool/////////////
