Thought I'd through up a cool trick for people who are looking to lower the decibels of their system in a cheap and easy way.

My returns vibrations were kinda bad so after some research I found that people can use a silicon trivet or hot pad for countertops. They are reef safe and it works great! They also dont break the bank.. I know alot of people also use sponges but I HATE sponges.

Is this the same material as an old school mouse pad?

Most mouse pads are made of neoprene, which will break down in SW. We use sorbothane, which works REALLY great, but is a bit more pricy than silicone trivets. The trivets are a good cost effective idea tho!

noticed my pump noise was getting louder, when i checked what i had under my main pump it had gotten kind of stiff from being in the water so long, so remembered reading about trivets, i couldn't remember who wrote it though at first, any way i bought one while out shopping at williams sonoma Silicone Trivet | Williams-Sonoma and it cut the pump vibration noise to nothing. or near that. works great thanks for the tip.
will be buying another and cut it in half and put it under the smaller pumps also, at this time they are on the suction cups that come with them.
