One question (or 20, somewhere there). i have a siphon overflow that is rated at 600 gph and a pump rated at 300 gph. i am planning to make a sump and beautify my tank by moving the skimmer down. i have a 10g and all i want to know is if i can cut down the overflows intake to 300 so it runs even with the pump and doesn't overflow the sump. can i just buy a valve to put on the hosing to the sump from the overflow or do i need a new pump??????
Will a valve disturb the siphon?

Please try to explain in simple wording ( bare with me, im only 14 years old!!!8) )

I too am 14, so dont worry!
Your overflow will only pull out as much water as your pump is putting into your tank, so you dont need a valve, all you have to do is just set up your overflow, draining into your sump and then have your pump push water back into your tank!

just be careful to not push more water into your tank (with your pump) than
your overflow can handle. you're fine up to 600 gph aquaboy provided you maintain you overflow properly.

i should be fine cause the pump only takes up to 300, and unless it somehow get a hand of some roids it wont pull more than 600 or even 300gph.

    Thanks all!!!
