That is a very nice looking setup. You need s'more rock my friend. Make sure you include 3reef on your sump build. Your going to want to make some chambers, especially for your skimmer. Skimmers hate fluctuating water levels and with that setup, your probably losing almost a gallon a day, so the sump probably drops about 2 inches which can have a major affect on skimming without constant adjusting.

Segregate some of the 20 long by adding glass or acrylic baffles. Your going to want a bubble trap and a chamber that has a consistent water level for the skimmer. You probably want to incorporate a fuge into the sump as well. Post another thread once you get your 20l and we can give you some ideas.

it looks like your heater is almost completely out of the water. That could cause the heater to overheat and break. You need a submersible heater or put that one back on the dt where the water level is higher

i didn't even notice your heater. That brand is crap. The thermostat on it is crap. Get a better heater that is fully submersible. Maybe you can sell that one on craigslist to fund the new one. a 150 wt heater new should only run you about 20 bucks or less.

Determine the optimum water level height for your skimmer and have a piece of glass cut that is that height and the width should be a inner-width of your sump minus about an 1/8 inch (well this is what I did before anyway to easily get it in there, then I filled gap with silicone) then ... determine the width of your skimmer chamber you are making and make a temporary hold of the baffle there with a clamp, masking tape or just about anything that works - I recall using a brick once, and use a lot of silicone on both sides of the baffle and the bottom.

If you want a couple baffles to hold a polishing sponge, then one of them be low to allow water over the edge and the other should be heigher but not go all the way to the bottom so that the water is forced through the sponge.

    Hope that helps..
