    just showing my DIY sump/refuge I just did. curious what your opinions are. will it work?

    which side is your intake? the side with the sponge on top?

    yes I dont have the money for more plumbing so trying to make something work

    looks like it will work, I noticed the bottom frame is broke that would be the only concern I can see.

    yeah it is a little but other than that it is in good shape. no leaks or anything . so I will be setting it up on wednesday. hope all will go well.

    ok here it is up and running. let me know what you think.. the light for the macro algae is a 23w (100W replacement bulb) that puts out 1600 lumens. that enough light? seems pretty bright.

    looks good, that is the same bulb I have on my fuge works good. I started out with a softball size cheato and now its overtaken the fudge.

    How high does it fill up to when you shut off your return pump?
    You want the water level in the sump low enough so it won't overfill if you have a power outtage.
