I will post lots of pictures throughout the process. I have created a blog that I will post on and I will also post on here as well.

I just picked up a 29 gallon tank last night with the same plan in mind for my 57g My dimensions are near the same. However I added an additional baffle at the end (rt side) so the water has to come back up instead of over like you have yours set up for the return section, not sure if any benefit 1 way or another I know I just dont want bubbles. also keep in mind thickness of material, assuming your using 1/4'' material and tank wall glass figure loss of about an 1 1/2" just on baffles/walls with your design.
    Good luck.

That's the same way I built my sump/refugium except without that extra baffle in the return section and I have no bubbles in the DT.

But if I ever did it again I would make it so that theres some middle flow entering the refugium as my current setup only has water flowing on the top surface and barely getting to the chaeto.

Also, if you plan on running a filter sock I just bought a hang on filter sock holder that goes in the first chamber. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the insight. I thought about putting an extra baffle in to reduce the bubbles. I have all the supplies in except the glass. When I originally drew my design up, I was wondering about only having water flowing over into the refugium or if I needed to have some sort of holes in the middle so the water could flow in as well. I will probably do something in the middle now that you mention it.

    Thanks again!
