Ok, so i am in the process of converting everything in my 46 BF to a new 72 BF that i just purchased. Since i have a little more room under the display for a larger sump i was going to play around with the layout of the sump/refuge. Right now I am planning on drilling a hole around the center line of the tank on the back plane of the display for the overflow and then two more for the returns on the left and right sides. Since the sump is the next thing on my list to get finished i was going to as you all what you thought of my ideas for the sump layout.

The image on the right is the one that i was planning on using. The overflow would send water to the middle and then it would either go left threw the fuge with live sand from the old tank and macro algae or to the right and go threw a filter sock and my protein skimmer. Let me know what you think and any suggestions that you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 3reefers

If you did it that way wouldn't you then need a heater on both sides to keep the water temp the same?

Wait scratch that, you can put the heater in the middle and get an even heat distribution.
