Sump under display tank???

i have decided that i need a sump. i have never had one, and this is probably a dumb question but can i have a sump under my display tank? i have a large open space under my tank and doors that could hide it built into the stand. i have an old 30g tank i was planing to use, but don't have the room to fit it beside the display tank anywhere. if someone has a similar setup and could post a pict or knows if its even possible i could use some guidence. the reason i need one is i just got a skimmer and have realized microbubbles are a major issue i want to rid my tank of the problem.

 

Under tank would be best I think because then you have less head loss off the return pump in turn not needing as powerful of a pump to do the same job.

 

I would say around 90% - 95% of us have sumps under our display tanks.

20g long and my display is a 40g.

 

Most people put their sump in/under their stand unless they have a separate fish room somewhere.
The 30 gal tank will make a great sump, here is a pic of my 20gal long sump/refugium I built for mine. its a simple yet effective design
