Something to fit all your equipment, and leaves enough volume for water to rise during power outages. Planning on a diy sump?

Do you plan on using all of your hob equipment or get new that will sit in sump. Ie protein skimmer heater

I feel that creating your own sump is one of the cheapest means as well as most effective means of having a sump. For a 110g i would suggest no less than a 30g sump. I personally like long tanks but its not necessary. Go and buy you some cheap plexy from Home Depot or Lowes and some quality silicone. Cut your pieces to size using a jigsaw and place them into your new sump and silicone them into place. Keep in mind that there will be back pressure in certain points that could fatigue your silicone and break your seal. This would be detrimental to your divider that separates your refuge and return pump bay. I can't stress it enough dont be scared to use a butt load of silicone. As for your Skimmer and return bay they really dont need to be that big they just need to be big enough to hold your skimmer and return pump. I hope this helps. Ohhh and dont forget to create bubble traps.

I personally would get a tank off CL or at a dollar/ gal sale at petco and silicone glass in unless you are comfortable doing acrylic work
