sun-lux?

    Right, my hanging luminaire came with 8 39watt t5 bulbs they are,,,

    CH LIGHTING F39T5/ SUN-LUX 10000K

    when my actinics are not on they have a yellow tinge to them, anybody had these bulbs before and are they any good,?

    10k bulbs are know for that. If you wanted a more blue look then you should of went with 14k or even 20k

    my 2x actinics are 14000k, i was referring to my sun-lux bulbs?

    yeh your sun lux bulbs are 10k.

    Im not sure but maybe you should swap you actinics for 20k and then you would get a good balance of light between them and the 10k's

    i have on at the moment 4x39 10000k sun-lux and 2x14oook actinics, but when the actinics are off the tank has a yellow tinge to it?

    acintics dont have a K rating they have a NM rating usually

    14k is a daylight bulb with a slight blue color
    20k is a daylight blue aka blue reef bulb

    420nm and 460nm are acintic

    I thought the same thing when I got my first T5 setup till I was told differently, I swapped some 14k's out for 420nm's and man what a difference it made

    I now use a mix of 10k and 420's and it looks great, corals responded really well to

    I just got hold of the box i put the old bulb in it the actinics+ bulbs i got are better then i thought .

    I got 2x 22000K 24watt actinic+ which are great, my problem is with the whites they make my water look yellow...

    could be a bad ballast or just a weak bulb
