sundial snail???

    Found this dude on some yellow polyps. Might explain why all my zoanthid grow like crazy then all the sudden disappear.

    attachment one is my snail, attachment two is a picture of sundial snail from Xtalreef

    Assuming my ID is correct any suggestions for removing? Xtalreef suggests manual removal. If I have one do I have more?

    Yep, that's the classic green zoanthid eater, either Heliacus variegatus or Heliacus areola. Sometimes you find an infestation of them if you find one, but if you found a single adult and no others, maybe you don't have any more. I'd try to look down among the zoanthids and see if there were more hiding, though. Manual removal is really the only option.

    Check your tank at night for babies. I had them and found it impossible to get rid of them.

    Halichoeres wrasses will eat these snails as well. That is probably the easiest way to rid a tank of one.
