I noticed a few of these residing in holes in my LR. They all were dead looking, crusty and broken open a month or two ago. Today I come home from work to find 2 of these "Sunflower" looking seeds on the substrate open, green and with hairs on the edges. Kinds of looks like a sunflower seed / venus fly trap. They're not dead at all like the bottom pics. Rather they look ripe.

    Any Ideas?

Not real sure what they are! Crazy looking though! Do the ones in the rocks move around? Do the recently opened ones move? How about pods from a mangrove tree? seeds maybe?

Nope, nothing moving around... The ones in the rock look like empty shells. On the sand, they look like a seed of some sort

I have several throughout my rockwork. Good filter feeders.

Perhaps you had one die and fall out.
