So I'm stumped with ordering my MH ballasts.
It's a decision between The Dimmable 250-400watt Lumatek ballasts and the Sunlight Supply Dual 250W ballast.
When they say "dual" does this mean that this one ballast will control 2x250W MH bulbs? If so, Does it also mean that each bulb will be alloted 250W each by this one ballast?
I plan to push Coral Keepers 14K bulbs with these new ballasts for now and soon the Phoenix 14K.

i would get the lummatek dimmable ballasts, if u ever upgrade to 400w bulbs. and get 2 single ones. incase if one goes bad you'll still have some light until u get your replacement.

Dimmable? You can select the wattage, but it's not dimmable, right?

SLS makes a selectable one as well.

The dual ballast has (2) separate ballasts inside the single enclosure.

The dual ballast is 250 x 2. Sunlight supply has always made great ballasts. I have the Galaxy select a watt 250 and it's been awesome so far. I can drive any 250W, 250HQI, 400W, or overdrive a 400W. So, tons of flexibility. Similar to the lumatek, but it got better reviews when I was looking. Can't compare to the lumatek, but the SS Galaxy has been great.

Depends on which sunlight supply ballast you are looking at. You either need the HQI magnetic ballast or the electronic ballast to run the Pheonix bulbs.

I use the Lumatek Select-a-watt ballasts. Love em. Will eventually upgrade all my ballasts to these or switch to LED.

Great, thanks for all the info everyone.
Also, great point about having 2 separate units in case one goes bad. I overlooked that.
