Sunrise Dottyback

has anyone ever had one of these? I have had mine for about 4 years. looks great, feeds like a pig and fat. now he is in my 75 gallon tank. the problem is...he thinks the entire tank is his. any new fish he will attack relentlessly. are they normally this aggressive? wife wants him gone cause cant do any other fish.

 

i have a purple stripe dottyback, he's a meanie , but my tank's big. so he just thinks the little right side of it is his. chasing others away. dottybacks are fine in bigger tanks, but in tanks less than 3 feet long it'll make the other fishes go carpet surfing. my gf's 2.5 footer has 3 jumpers because of the fish, returned it for a tomato clown at last . ;D

 

well its official, the dottyback did enough damage to my firefish before I could put him in another tank and he has died. My wife picked him up from the LFS who said "yup he will be fine" ha.. wasted money and poor fish!

 

My LFS guy told me all dotty backs are jerks and will possibly kill other fish. He told me to never get one. Sorry about your loss!

 

just teaches me to always take what my LFS says with a grain of salt cause they just want the sale.
