Well i dont no what they are...I have a very little piece of rock that USED to have some nice yellow polyps on it. Then they started to just go away. I mean dissaperd.....I started examining the rock more closely and noticed its coverd in long thin hair like worms the shoot out extreamly fast grab whatever they can and retract back into there pin hole within a blink of an eye.

A picture would be impossible and i dont even no where to begin searching on worms. Dose anybody know what these are? i think i should throw the rock out before they spread to other rocks. they seem to just be on the one.

Any advice on these wierd creatures?

Based off your description, I'm going to guess spaghetti worm. But do some research online and see if you can find a picture that looks like what you have.

    Most likely harmless!!

Yup from the vague description it sounds like a spaghetti. If it is is actually is it's feet/tentacles or whatever they are technically called and there is a big part that always hides.

I looked over the hitch hikers guide and i did not see anything that resembold it. I also dont no about the speggetti worm it dosnt have that type of tenticale look.

These tenticales are Hair like. just as thin as hair and not transparent. they are dark brown or black. it seems to be one hair like worm per hole each about three to four inches long. Also with what looks to be a forked tounge tounge or tenticle like a snake.

If its not the worms or what ever they are killing off these polyps what els could it be. everything els in the tank is doing fine.
