Hey guys. I haven't been on in a while but things have been crazy. It's exam time and we're remodeling like 3/4 of the house which looks amazing btw but I can barely move my fingers from laying carpet.

Anyways, over the past 2-3 weeks I have upgraded my tank to a 40g and bought some more soft corals plus a yellow rose goby and a yellow dottyback....not at the same time.

I acclimated the yellow rose goby and when he first got in the tank he went straight to the bottom and sat there. I went to do something and when I returned I didn't see him anywhere. Havent seen him since and that was like 3 weeks ago. I got the dottyback yesterday and he was so social. Went to bed and same thing, havent seen him since. I have a lot of live rock and my aquascape is pretty great with many places to hide. I know this is common behavior for gobies but I'm a tad concerned since Im seemingly trending to buy fish then never see them.

Any suggestions on how to know for sure they are ok in there? I have safety covers on the circulator, protein skimmer and filter, but checked anyway-nobody got sucked up. Nobody jumped out and no ammonia spikes. No way am I going in to move things around looking for fish!

Oh and here's the new setup ;)

Yah, seems a long time. Got a cat in the house with a guilty look on its face?

lol...I do have a cat but she doesn't have any claws and is a lil too prissy to go face fishing. I just posted another thread about having to move the tank. Depending on the feedback I get there, I may have to go searching for little yellow fishies.

Is the tank covered? Gobies are known to be jumpers...

I didn't see my sleeper goby for the first week, but he was out all of the time after that. 3 weeks is definitely a long time.

mmm...nope. No lid. But I've checked all around the floor many many times and no corpses yet.

I know, I know. I inherited the cat along with the house when mom moved out. She's a Himmy and mom had her spayed and declawed before she was 5 mos old. Definitely cruel. I'd never....
