So this morning I looked at the tank before the day lights came on and noticed that all 5 of my Super Nassarius Snail from Tonga were out and about.

This is strange because I usually never see them.

Is it normal for these to come out at night ?
I am afraid my new sand does not have enough food for them.
Or, I just dosed Alk, ca and MAg, could that have spooked them ?

I hope it is that they come out at night and I never noticed them before and not a sign of bad things to come.

Anyone familiar with their behavior ?

    thanks

Has anything died in your tank that you don't know about? I'd do a head count.

No, everyone is still kickin and accounted for. Params are good.
I lost the Sally Lightfoot in the coversion a week ago but thats it.

It's just odd to see 5 snails you never see , all out and about at one.
The pepermint shrimp that I never see was even out.

Is it just a weird thing

They usually come out when they smell food. The additives may have them thinking there is food in the tank. They are a scavenger so they will pick up an food that falls to the bottom.
