    I just put this in my sump and it's goin crazy overflowing is this normal . Tanks only been set up for two days now

    Couple of things, model number would help, there are a TON of models, but the gate valve adjusts the water level, you can fine tune it there. Most importantly, these skimmers for the most part only want to be in 6-7 inches of water for optimal functionality. Also if this skimmer is brand new it will tend to flood until its broken in.

    All that being said, SOMETIME air can get trapped in the outflow and cause it to flood. I build a silencer and that happened to me for a while. After it broke in I no longer needed the silencer and it has been smooth sailing since.

    Ok it's the xp2000sss cone in about ten inches of water got it used I'll try raising it thanks

    6.5 inches. I have the same one. Ironically mine overflowed last night too lol. I need to clean it.

    Oh just put eggcrate under it and it doubles as a cryptic zone.
