I have a 65gallon Coral Life Super Skimmer 65+ Gallon on my 30gallon predatory tank. It is currently not producing the skimmate that I would like to see coming from a predatory tank. I cleaned out the skimmer and it didnt seem to help any. Is there any special way to fix it or clean it out that I dont know about? Or is this just a product flaw.

It's not necessarily a product flaw, but some skimmers are better then others either by design, quality or materials used. The coralife skimmers are a decent intro. skimmer, but nothing special. In this hobby you get what you pay for. Now, it could be a question of breaking it in. If you have just installed it, it will take up to a few weeks to fully break and develop the necessary condition to skim properly.

If you have had it for a while, make sure the air intake hose is not clogged...mine tends to get clogged down at the base....salt collects in there. I usually remove it once a month and run some fresh water in there. It is also important to make sure that the strainer basket on the pump intake (Where the air hose connects) is pushed all the way on. If it is off even a little it really messes it up. If you do that, you should be good. I have the same skimmer on my reef, and it works great. I have the larger version on my 120, and am really happy with it as well. Would agree that it is a middle of the road skimmer, not the best...not the worst....but it should get the job done.

Your query is subjective as you say; "that I would like to see coming from a predatory tank." What are you getting and what exactly do you expect?
