I am thinking of supplementing Mg or Iodine to help my coral grow. I am still new to it. I have mushrooms, kenya trees, and assorted polyps. I want things to GROW.

I do water changes every 2-3 weeks. That is why I thinking I could dose because I cannot always go to the LFS & get salt water.

    What say you?

Do not dose unless you are testing for what you are dosing. You should try feeding the coral for increased growth. Any food designed for coral will do.

Ca should be between 380ppm and 450ppm
Alkalinity should be between 7 dKH and 11 dKH
Mg should be between 1280ppm and 1400ppm.

Your salt should provide all of the iodine your coral need. I would suggest looking into getting an rodi filter and buying commercial salt. This will be less costly in the long run and you will have better control of your tank parameters.
