Supplementing 16w LED questions and balancing color

    I prefer the really crisp white look. I'm just worried that pinks/reds will all look gray/washed out under the lights like they do now.

    the crisp white look is more something you would find over a planted tank, dont ask me why but over reefs you generally see much bluer lighting. i think it must have to do with once you reach a certain depth in the ocean the water takes on a very bluish light.

    I'm looking for something more along the lines of this: [​IMG]

    color rather than the like purply-cyan I have right now.

    So 8,000k seems like a good plan probably.

    well in that particular picture you can see the reflection of the actual fixtures fairly well. it appears to have two panorama pro fixtures over it. with 6 white modules and 4 blue modules. that should get the desired effect exactly. as for your lighting i would suggest getting the 8k, if you dont like it you can always send it back and get the other.

    Correct - you lose color in order of the color spectrum (ROYGBIV)in the ocean at depth...so you lose reds first..orange second ....yellow third...etc. even at depths as shallow as 60 ft..red starts to really wash out.
