    Hi all

I am looking to build up a general idea of possible/ potential demand for the big 3 supplements in tanks with mainly SPS corals

if you where not dosing, how much would your levels drop in a typical week, please

I am still using very little of anything to maintain my levels, but want to know where I could be at as these corals grow

so some ideas on weekly demands would be appreciated

    Steve

i guess its hard to actually pinpoint this exactly... however, according to randy holmes-farley, if your alk is constant enough and on the higher end and coupled with a stable pH, Ca, Mg, and strontium are completely interchangeable in a coral skeleton...
sorry if thats already common knowledge lol i just learned it a few weeks ago

hi steve. When I first started dosing, I used this table from bulkreefsupply as a starting point and found it very accurate for me...

Recommended Starting Points for Daily Dosing

    Predominately LPS and soft corals
    .2-.3ml/gallon

A few hard SPS corals or clams
    .4-.6ml/gallon

Numerous full sized SPS colonies and clams
    1+ml/gallon

This would be a once per day amount...

Also, that's just for Alk and Ca. Mg is done differently.
