Keep an eye out for film like a few said - but other than that i think more info is needed to give you any valuable advice.

A 29 gallon tank and a 100 gallon tank are not created equal. Plus it really depends on how you have your return set up....

I was hoping to do that too with my 4 returns in my 75. However i did not plumb the system "optimally"...and it wasnt enough flow even with a mag 9.5. I added : a K1, a mj1200 and an mj900 because the water coming out of the return lines werent under enough pressure. My turn over is up there, like 8-10 or so... but it doesnt create alot of flow and current throughout the tank.

So without more information thats all i got... best of luck to you though

I agree. You may try it and find later that you get a film on the surface... you can always add a PH later.

I get a film within a few days if I don't have surface agitation... just FYI.

I would still opt to have the agitation though

This *may* be a benefit depending on where you live and how you control your indoor environment. I keep my house kind of cool (74*F), so this would be a con at my house. I have to run a heater even with the lights on middle of day in the summer.

But I do keep a lot of surface agitation for the O and film reasons and just keep the heater going...

if you can live without the shimmer from halides i wouldn't give it a second thought, you're creating plenty of surface agitation by skimming the top through nyou overflowm, just not the kind folks are used to,unless you're going to keep sps you'll be fine flow wise and you'll also get a lot less salt creep
also,by not agitating the surface you actually have a better shot at removing film since it won't be in the water column

Well I have the returns plumbed through a SCWD, and each of the returns has a Wye reducer and some locline, so I can put the flow wherever I want. I havent gotten my RO/DI yet, so I don't actually know how much flow the MJ1200 will provide. I'm hoping that I can get away without any additional flow, but i'm not 100%

I want to keep softies and LPS, and I will be using a 175w MH. My normal operating temp will probably be 78-80 deg.
