Ive used play sand in all my tanks for the last 5 years with out any problems at all.

Swagger, you should move the heater to the sump(idk u might have already) and is there any way you can get your skimmer in there as well???

If I put longer pvc at the ends of the return and intake tube Im sure I could put my skimmer in the sump, but they would be awful long.
Im definitely moving the heater to the sump though as soon as I get a good heater. These ones are two smaller ones that I put in there just because I dont have one to handle my tank yet.
Any suggestions on a good heater?
I can't wait to see it filled either. I got so excited seeing that little limpet while I was peeking at the rocks in the car I almost made us wreck when I squealed "OH MY GAWD!!!" Lmao

    HAHAHAH

as far as a heater, i have one 500 watt heater that keeps a 500+ gallon system steady at 78-80 so i would think just one of those would be able to do the job. Mine is a titanium(yup i cant sp and i am one year away from a masters LMAO)

Thanks. Right now I'm trying to cut some plexi glass for my lights. I bought them used from a LFS because they had broke the glass that covers the bulbs.
Tomorrow I shall get some legs for it. Maybe more LR too.
Don't worry about spelling. We all make mistakes. ;)

Grrr. I just broke the plexi Glass for the 4th time:evil3:. I'm done for the night I swear!!! :furious3::pissed:
I have never had plexi glass that was this Friggin difficult to cut in my LIFE!
I have been scoring it on both sides in nice neat little lines, going over and over it until there's a nice deep grove on either side. I put it on a long table and try to gently break the edge, but it keeps snapping in odd places....

FINALLY! I got that d@mn Plexiglas cut perfectly! I fixed my light and when I turned it on
LO! What's this?! Tons of tiny tiny little critters (pods) covering my glass! WOO! :clapping:
I also saw two tiny little bug like things that I've never seen before. They were about this size ---> O
They are round, flat, and remind me of extremely small trilobites, color was clear-ish and slightly yellow/tan with two tiny brown lines on its back with two tiny tiny distinct eyes. They were so small I couldnt take a pic.
Any idea what they could be?
