    Thank you Steve.
Do you think that one K1 and one K2 should be sufficient for my tank along with the Return spout (Not sure what to call it, lol), overflow and the intake/output of the HOB skimmer?

    welcome Swagger

its a 55 gallon tank- do you know the output of your return?

    A Korallia 1 is 400 GPH or 1500 LPH
    A K2 is 600 GPH or 1300 LPH

Depends to a degree what you want to keep, but even in a FOWLR tank I had 30 plus times the volume of my 60 in water movement - and in my reef I am up to 42 x water volume, but I only have 4 x SPS corals so can arrange flow to suit them whilst still having havens for softies (I have 5 power heads in the 5ft tank)

in your 55 you could therefore have somwhere between 1650 GPH and 2700 GPH
with the 2700 GPH only being required if you have lots of SPS , IMO
so with the K1 and K2 you already have 1000 GPH - so it does depend on what the flow rate is on your return to a degree (I dont include skimmer return on mine as the flow is not useable to any great degree it drops downwards and cant be directed)

    hope that helps

    Steve

    Thank you again Steve. :D
My pump has 850gph, so with 1850 gph I should be good.
I just want to make sure I do everything I can to make this tank a healthy happy place for my critters....That and I dont want to go through another horrid Cyano/GHA out break again, lol.

I got a new light fixture yesterday (The old one was a pain in the :furious2:)
So here are pics of my tank with the Koralia power heads (I did adjust them later) and my new lights. First pic is of the day lights, second of the evening and third of the night lights.
I do apologize for the night one being so blurry, I just couldn't capture the real beauty of this setting. The whole tank looks black with bright blue lines wavering throughout the tank. Its so gorgeous.

It's a Coralife fixture with two 12000k daylights, 2 actinic and 4LED moonlights. Its only 4 months old, I got it for $100 and the original price was about $280.

Thanks;). As I said in an earlier post, I moved my power heads after I took the picture. As for another K2, where would you suggest I place it?
The K1 is under the return pump and the K2 is under the overflow.

    Thanks Bigdaddy;D

    ****UPDATE****
I finally finished adjusting my DIY refugium. It took a while, but after a lot of toying, I made my own overflow and tee'd off my return pump to feed the fuge. I will post pics soon.

I also saw something odd in my tank. It looked like the molt from a tiny lobster tail. Could I possibly have a baby Mantis in my tank? The molt was about this big ---- and was just the legs and tail.
