Well we swapped tanks around due to many issues, and then all hell broke loose. But on the bright side the tank is going nuts with new life. SO here are some teaser pics, i will explain all the issues we had some other time.

If you look at the pics you can see that the mushrooms are starting to split, and we have a ton of new feather dusters popping up. On the two first ones there is a light bulb protruding from the rock, which i thought was pretty cool.

    Enjoy.

    Sorry for the blurry pics.

UGh well as i said in some posts a while back we had a huge red algae outbreak. Well i tried several remedies and it got to the point where every square inch of the substrate and live rock was covered, and it was thick. We pulled most of it out and 3 days later it was the same way. So i did some research and found the if we leave the lighs out it should do the trick to at least cut down to a manageable point. We switched the lion fish back into the tank with the wrasse, which went very well for weeks.

I also posted a while back that we where having an issue with what i thought was Ick, it tuned out to be more like brooklynella (sp). Well one by one the fish in the new tank started going, we are now left with a yellow tail damsel that turned deep purple and is now a light blue with yellow dorsal lol, strange transformation. After this we decided to redo the rock work and let it sit to get the disease out of the tank, so now we have about 60 lbs live rock and 60-70 lbs base rock which was the other live rock and we just took it out and let the red algae and everything else die off.

To top all of the off the wrasse and lionfish got into a little fight and we seperated them but it was too late, wrasse tore a nice size chunk out of the lion and the lion stung the wrasse badly.

So now we have a tank that is ready for a new cycle period (moving into an App soon) so i dont want to get it started and tear it down. The new tank we are using for the reef and another for sale. I do like the new reef tank as i actually have room under the stand to build a sump.

So long story short all but one fishy died and we are ready to start over with the old reef tank thinking FOWLR for that one.
